A Port Arthur police officer is recovering from non-life threatening injuries after he was struck
by a car yesterday afternoon in the parking lot of the Cedar Ridge Apartments. Officers were
there after being notified by Bridge City police that a car with a registered address at that location
had just left the Bridge City Walmart following a theft at the store. The driver of the car, 37-year
old Patrise Young, struck the officer attempting to leave the scene. At last report, officers were
searching for that vehicle, a 2000 teal colored Honda Civic. The car will have front end damage
of the driver’s side.
