The DPS has released the name of a man that was struck and killed by a pickup yesterday
on Highway 347 in Jefferson County. 29-year old Steven Ray Young, of Lumberton, was
crossing the highway near Fourth Street when he was struck by an oncoming northbound
pickup. Young was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup was not hurt. The
DPS continues its investigation.
