In a joint statement released by Orange County Sheriff Keith Merritt and Orange County District
Attorney John Kimbrough, they will not attend a public meeting this evening to discuss the Robert
Malvano case. Malvano, died while in custody in Orange in October of 2011. The Malvano
family was recently awarded a settlement for his death. This evening’s meeting is to discuss the
settlement.
