Three Mississippi residents are in the Jefferson County jail after a routine traffic stop produced
illegal drugs this morning. Beaumont police stopped the vehicle in the 5100 block of I-10 South.
Inside the car, police found nearly 23 grams of suspected ectacy and about 17 ounces of
marijuana. 24-year old Jamie Butler, 36-year old Eddie Melton, and 26-year old Tyrohnda
Safford, all of Clarksdale Mississippi, have been charged with possession of a controlled
substance and possession of marijuana.
