The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office wants to alert citizens about a scam. Citizens are
receiving e-mails alerting them they failed to appear for jury duty. They inform citizens
that they have three days after which you may be contacted to appear in court. After getting
personal information, the scammers can steal your money. Jefferson County does not send
out failure to appear e-mail summons. If you receive an e-mail you are asked to delete it.
