A guard that worked at the Beaumont federal prisons has pleaded to bribery charges. Court
documents revealed 34-year old Anqunett Vernetta Lewis, of Houston, smuggled watches
with cellular capabilities into the prison for inmates. She was paid by the inmates or the inmate’s
families. She faces up to five years in federal prison. A sentencing date has not been set.
