An electrical short is believed to be the cause of a house fire in Beaumont last night. The fire
in the 400 block of Jay originated on the back porch and spread into the rear of the home. The
house is being operated as an assisted living facility. The elderly residents were transported to
the hospital by EMS to be checked as a precaution.
