The state has rested and now the defense is presenting its case in the capital murder trial of
Joseph Colone Jr. The Beaumont man is accused of the 2010 shooting deaths of Mary
Hernandez Goodman and her 16-year old daughter Brianna Goodman. They were shot to
death at their Beaumont home on Hartel Street. If convicted, Colone faces either the death
penalty or life in prison.
