The DPS has released the name of a motorcyclist that was injured in a wreck yesterday near the
Jasper-Hardin County line. 73-year old Frank Michael Ryan, of Silsbee, was traveling north on
Highway 96 when he stopped quickly to make a right turn into a driveway and was struck from
behind by a pickup driven by 69-year old Patrick Chavis, of Louisiana. Ryan was airlifted to
Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. There’s been no additional information on his
condition. Chavis was transported to the hospital by ambulance.
