A 30-year old Orange County man was treated for a gunshot wound to the face yesterday
morning. Matthew McBroom, of Vidor, told deputies he was driving on Aunt Sadie Land, near
the corner of FM 2802 north of Vidor when he saw a white Dodge Caravan pull into an empty
lot. He then felt an object hit him in the face. McBroom drove to a nearby friend’s house and
called the sheriff’s office. The gunshot wound is not life threatening. Investigators believe this is
an isolated incident.
