10 years probation and a $10,000 fine. That is the sentence given to Carl Broussard yesterday
for the hit-and-run deaths of 25-year old Ava Nichole Lewis and her 6-year old daughter Janise
Newhouse. They were struck and killed in 2015 on MacArthur Drive in Orange. Broussard,
a former assistant coach at West Orange-Stark High School, pleaded guilty in March to two
counts of failure to stop and render aid.
