Port Arthur firefighters responded to the scene of the silo at German Pellets when the silo ruptured
and collapsed yesterday morning. There were no people in the collapse zone and there were no
injures. TCEQ is participating in the response efforts. The silo, which has brought several
complaints from Port Arthur residents, has been smoldering for the past two months.
