A Beaumont man that was placed on five years of federal probation this past October after
pleading guilty to killing whooping cranes is heading to prison for violating the terms of
his probation. 20-year old Trey Joseph Fredrick violated his probation for among other things,
using an AR-15 assault rifle to hunt from a roadway in Jefferson County. Frederick was
sentenced to 11 months to be followed by one year of supervised release.
