Beaumont police have a man in custody for aggravated assault-family violence and resisting
arrest. Police were called to an apartment complex in the 1000 block of Pinchback last night.
A woman told police the suspect had a bat and she used a kitchen knife in self defense. The
suspect resisted officers who were arresting him. The suspect was transported to Baptist
Hospital where he was treated for stab wounds to the arm. He was then transported to the
Jefferson County Correctional Facility.
