In Orange County, more than 10 witnesses testified yesterday in day one of the punishment
phase in the trial of Travis Collins. Collins pleaded guilty to two counts of intoxication
manslaughter for the 2015 deaths of Riley and Emily Portie. They died after the motorcycle
they were on was struck by a pickup driven by Collins. Collins faces two to 20 years in prison
for each count. The trial resumes this morning at the Orange County courthouse.
