A driver and his passenger were hospitalized Monday morning after his truck left the road and struck a disabled SUV on highway 73. DPS Sgt. Stephanie Davis says the collision was reported around 2:30 Monday morning near Taylor’s Bayou. The 2014 Ford pickup truck was going east on Highway 73 and the driver went off the roadway and struck an abandoned Toyota SUV. The impact caused the Ford pickup to rollover several times before coming to rest. The driver 21 year old Benigno Martinez Jr and 21 year old Joaquin Luna both of Mission, Texas, were taken to Christus St Elizabeth. Their injuries did not appear to be life threatening.
