Two men are jailed in Jefferson County. Just before 2:00 this morning, deputies
received a call about a suspicious truck pulling a trailer with an excavator on Boondocks
Road. Following a traffic stop, it was learned the excavator was stolen for a worksite in
Drainage District #6. The trailer was stolen from a business in Winnie. 52-year old James
Hoffpauir and 49-year old Arlington Wood, both of Vidor, were arrested and charged with
third degree felony theft. Both Hoffpauir and Wood are suspects in several other thefts in
surrounding counties.
