Beaumont police are investigating a homicide. 32-year old Everett Maurice Mitchell, of
Beaumont, was found shot to death in a driveway yesterday morning in the 5000 block of
Brace Drive. 33-year old Deremick Jamaal Hunter, of Beaumont, was brought to the Beaumont
police station several hours after the shooting where he gave a statement and was arrested for
the murder of Mitchell. Hunter was transported to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility.
