Former Prison Guard Sentenced To 18 Months

A former prison guard at the federal prison in Jefferson County has been sentenced to 18

months in federal prison for bribery. 34-year old Anqunett Vernetta Lewis worked at

the federal and was paid by inmates to smuggle watches with cellular capabilities to

inmates at the prison. Lewis, who pleaded guilty in March, was also fined $1,700.
