A Vidor man has been arrested in connection of the death of an 8-year Damian Hayes, who
was killed Sunday afternoon while being pulled behind a boat on an inner tube on the Sabine
River near Niblett’s Bluff in Calcasieu Parish. 35-year old Eddie Dunwoody is charged with
operating a vessel while intoxicated with child endangerment, vehicular homicide, vehicular
negligent injury, and operating a vessel in a no wake zone. Another boy was transferred to
Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Dunwoody was transported
to the Calcasieu Parish Jail.
