Jefferson County Judge Jeff Branick has signed a declaration of disaster for the county with
the threat of Hurricane Harvey. Judge Branick says it gives the powers available to the county.
that allows county to regulate businesses and roadways that may be needed for a rapid response.
Judge Branick is confident that Drainage District 7 and Mason Construction have done an
great job preparing the break in the levee in Port Arthur saying all DD7's pumps are ready and
manned to get water from inside the hurricane protection levee back into the Gulf of Mexico.
