Wet roads led to a fatality wreck on Highway 62 in Orange County yesterday afternoon. 27-
year old Gabrielle Bass, of Orange her 7-year old son, and passenger 48-year old Melissa
McMillan of Orange were killed when the car driven by Bass hydroplaned into the oncoming
lane striking two vehicles. McMillian’s 8-year old son was transported to Texas Children’s
Hospital in critical condition. Bass’ 4-year old daughter suffered minor injuries. The driver’s
of the other two vehicles 43-year old Michael Bloss, of Lumberton and William Lippan, of
Orange, were not hurt.
