The DPS reports a Hardin County man was killed last night in a two vehicle wreck near
Batson. A tractor was traveling south on FM 770, about two miles south of Batson, when
the driver of the tractor, 39-year old Brian Sumrall of Batson, pulled off the roadway and
then attempted to get back onto the highway and was struck by a pickup. Sumrall was
pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup, 35-year old Joe Patton of Hull, was
transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
