A weekend wreck on I-10 in Orange County has claimed the life of a Groves man. The DPS
reports 24-year old David Alvarez was traveling west on the interstate near the Louisiana state
line, around 1:45 Saturday morning, when he drifted onto the improved shoulder and struck the
back of parked 18-wheeler. Alvarez was transported to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in
Beaumont where he later died. The driver of the 18-wheeler was not hurt
