A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car over the weekend in Jefferson County. The DPS
reports 36-year old Deja Louis Ellis, of Port Arthur, attempted to cross Highway 347 , near
Monroe Street, yesterday morning and was struck by a northbound car. She was transported
to the Southeast Texas Medical Center where she died. The driver of the car was not hurt.
