The DPS and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a wreck in which a passenger
in the vehicle was found dead from a gunshot wound. The wreck occurred yesterday morning on
Highway 90 west near Meeker road. The driver, 21-year old Jacob Ferrill, of Beaumont remains
Hospitalized in critical condition. The passenger, 23-year old Chase Taylor of Beaumont, died
from a gunshot wound to the right side of the head. A handgun was found in his lap.
