Port Arthur police report last night’s gunshot victim has died. The shooting occurred at the
Avery Apartments in 4100 block of Highway 365. One witness heard up to seven shots. Port
Arthur police approached a person of interest this morning at a residence on 4th Street. He fled
on foot and threw what appeared to be a handgun over the seawall on Lakeshore Drive. Divers
from the Port Arthur Fire Department are looking for the gun.
