A Port Arthur man is jailed on a murder charge. 20-year old Diante Malik Burrell was
arrested yesterday for the Tuesday night shooting death of 20-year old Javonte Deshon
Jack. The shooting occurred at the Avery Apartments in the 4100 block of Highway 365.
Burrell, who is claiming self-defense, was arrested after fleeing from police on foot, at
which time he threw what appeared to be a handgun over the seawall on Lakeshore Drive.
