A child playing with a cigarette lighter led to a fire at the Glen Oaks apartments in the 500
block of Dowlen Road in Beaumont Saturday. Up to 50 units at the complex received extensive
damage. The fire started on the second floor of the complex. No serious injuries were reported.
The American Red Cross is assisting those affected by the fire.
