The DPS has released the name of a Groves man that was killed in a wreck last night. DPS Sgt.
Stephanie Davis says 39-year old Mario Ruben Clunga died when a pickup backed in front of
his motorcycle on Twin City Highway, near 7th Avenue. Clunga was pronounced dead at the
scene. A passenger on the motorcycle, 34-year old Erin White, of Houston, was transported to
Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the pickup, 46-year old
Richard Eric Bean, of Groves, was treated for minor injuries at the scene. He was then arrested
for intoxication manslaughter.
