Charges filed against a teen in relation to the June shooting death of Kera Teel have been
dropped. 17-year old Atayanna Douglas was jailed on three counts of aggravated robbery. She
was released today as there was not enough evidence to keep her jailed. While in custody, she
falsely identified 22-year old Jared Bias as the shooter in the Teel death. Capital murder
charges against Bias were dropped earlier this month. Beaumont police have several juveniles in
custody that are suspects in the shooting death of Teel and her unborn child. Other charges are
pending against Douglas.
