Driving at an unsafe speed was a contributing factor in a weekend fatality in Beaumont.
Beaumont police report 24-year old Derion Perkins, of Beaumont, was traveling at a high rate
of speed Saturday afternoon when he lost control of his car in the 4100 block of Cardinal
Drive. Perkins, who was ejected from his vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
