The Optimum Medical Weight Control and Family Wellness clinic in Nederland remains open,
even though the Texas Board of Nursing has stripped owner Kevin Morgan of his license,
pending a probably cause hearing that is set for next week. The Texas Board of Nursing is
calling Morganâs practice a threat to public welfare. Morgan is accused of prescribing large
amounts of testosterone and thyroid hormone to patients that did not need. The board alleges
his prescriptions may have contributed to two deaths. The clinic is located on Nederland Avenue.
