Accident Shuts Down Eastbound I-10 Near 1142

                                                                                                                             

At approximately 12:30p.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) received a report of a motor vehicle crash on Interstate 10 in Orange County.  The crash occurred near FM 1442.

 Preliminary reports indicate that a truck tractor semi-trailer was traveling eastbound on Interstate 10.   According to the driver of the 18-wheeler, the right front tire blew-out causing the vehicle to veer to the right and strike the concrete barrier.  After colliding with the barrier, the vehicle caught fire.

 The driver, 68-year-old James Robinson of Alabama, was not injured and refused medical treatment at the scene.

 All eastbound traffic lanes of Interstate 10, near FM 1442, remain closed.
