A man is jailed after fleeing from Jefferson County deputies. Deputies attempted to serve an
evading warrant on David Weeks yesterday at a home in the 2800 block of Manning in Port
Arthur when he fled out the back door of the residence. Following a foot pursuit, Weeks
was able to get into a vehicle and speed off. The chase went over the Veterans Memorial
Bridge into Bridge City and then back into Port Arthur over the Rainbow Bridge and ended
back at Weeks’ home on Manning Street. He was arrested on the original evading warrant and
was charged again with evading.
