There was an election in Orange County yesterday. Voters said no to a projected hospital district.

84% of the more than 6,300 citizens that cast ballots, voted against the district. The district would

of had a tax levy of 18 cents per 100 dollar valuation to bring a hospital to Orange County. Since

the closure of Baptist Hospital in Orange, residents needing emergency care are brought to

Beaumont or Port Arthur.
