An electrical cord wrapped around a tree is believed to have started a fire Sunday night at an
apartment on Pecos Street in Beaumont. Two people inside the apartment were able to escape
injury, however a dog was lost in the fire. Fires were also reported in southeast Texas in Vidor
and Port Neches. There were no injuries from either one of those fires.
