A Port Arthur woman, convicted of intoxication manslaughter, has been sentenced to 18 years in
prison. That is the punishment Judge Raquel West handed down for Vanessa Davis. Davis was
under the influence of cocaine when she crashed her car on Gulfway Drive in Port Arthur in
July of 2015. The wreck killed Pamela Fields. Davis chose to have her sentenced assessed by the
judge and not the jury. She could of faced up to 20 years. Davis was removed from the courtroom
after yelling at family members of Fields while a victim impact statement was being read.
