An Amarillo man is jailed after fleeing from Jefferson County deputies in a stolen pickup. Yesterday
afternoon, deputies received a call from a man who told them he was behind his brother’s pickup that
had been stolen. The driver of the stolen pickup, 30-year old Alex Espinoza, veered into a field off of
Highway 90 in China, then fled on foot. He was arrested a short time later. Espinoza is the same man
that led deputies on a chase earlier this week in a stolen car out of Baytown. He had been hiding in the
woods for the past three days. Espinoza is charged with evading. Additional charges are pending.
