Congressman Brian Babin, of Woodville, was on the Amtrak that crashed after hitting
a truck near Charlottesville, Virginia. Babin, who was not injured, spoke to us from the scene and said they
felt a jolt and some members of congress that were standing in the aisle were knocked to the floor.
Congressman Babin says he doesn’t think the train was at fault as the rail crossing arms were down. One
person inside the truck died at the scene. Several members of congress were on the train heading to a
retreat. Congressman Randy Weber, of Lake Jackson, was not on the train.
