A joint investigation between the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office, the Lumberton Police
Department, and the Southeast Texas Auto Theft Task Force has lead to the seizure of
methamphetamine and the recovery of weapons and stolen property. Last week, a trailer
that was stolen from a dealership in Rose City was located on Gordon Lane north of Silsbee.
An automobile, motorcycle, multiple guns, and electronics were recovered. 32-year old
Samantha Thomas, of Buna, was arrested on multiple charges including possession with the
intent to distribute a felony amount of methamphetamine. She posted a $32,000 bond and
then was turned over to Orange County authorities. Then on Sunday, the investigation
continued with Lumberton police locating a suspect with direct involvement to the stolen
travel trailer and illegal drugs. Officers attempted to stop34-year old Robert Deckert on his
motorcycle and he refused to stop. He eventually wrecked and was taken into custody. He was in
possession of a large amount of methamphetamine. After being treated at the hospital, Deckert
was transported to the Hardin County Jail. His bonds total more than $30,000.
