Iggy Azalea Heads To Church In New Video For Quavo-Assisted 'Savior'

Say way what you want about Iggy Azalea, but the rapper has an extremely stylized eye for visuals and her music video for her new Quavo-assisted single, "Savior," which dropped on Thursday (March 1), is proof.

Following the premiere of her Super Bowl LII Monster Products ad, the Aussie rapper's video, which was directed by Collin Tilley, sees her in a neon-filled church as she comes face to face with a cloaked figure. In the almost-four minute clip, the 27-year-old rapper is placed in various parts of the church as she submerges herself in a scene full of religious imagery. By the end of the clip, we learn that the cloaked figure is none other than Iggy, who helps herself find purity and rebirth of sorts.

It mirrors the bars to the tropical-tinged track, which was produced by Cirkut & Manhun Glow, and hears Azalea get a little more sentimental than we are used to hearing. "I feel like God playin' tricks on me, got a fix on me/ Feel the weight of the world like I got a brick on me/ Had a dance with the devil and he got a grip on me/ I'm just tryna get to heaven, hope you got a ticket for me" she spits. "Savior" will appear on the rapper's heavily-delayed sophomore LP, which was originally titled Digital Distortion before being renamed Surviving the Summer.

After the release of the clip, I-G-G-Y took to Twitter to speak about the intention behind the video. "Guys, I know its early days but I just want to say I've been scared to put this video out since filming it," she confessed. "At first I felt like it was because people wouldn't understand what I was trying to say, visually - in the past, I've stumbled and been misunderstood. But as I sat with it and showed friends, they understood my message clearly... just as you all seem to be now. I think what really scared me is showing you how dark of a place, in my own life and mind I was in. It's hard to look back at that place."
