For the second time is a week, the Lumberton School District has named a finalist to become
the district’s next superintendant. Gerald Chandler, who has been with Lumberton ISD for the
past 15 years was named the finalist last night. The district must wait 21 days before officially
hiring Chandler, who will replace John Valastro who retired. Last week, the district named
Dr. Jeremy Glenn as the finalist. Earlier this week Dr. Glenn withdrew his name from
consideration.
