Several drugs were found in a car Saturday night following a traffic stop. The Jefferson County
Sheriff’s Office received a call about a car driving erratically on I-10 near mile marker 845.
Following a traffic stop, the driver was extremely nervous. A K-9 unit was called to the scene
when the driver refused consent to search. The K-9 alerted deputies and inside the car 107
bottles of testosterone, 303 grams of Xanax, and a pistol were found. The driver, Joshua
Abshire, was arrested on two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of
unlawfully carrying a weapon. Abshire was transported to the Jefferson County Correctional
Facility
