A man is jailed after fleeing from Beaumont police last night. Police received a call about a
disturbance at Thirsty’s Lounge on Dowlen Road. When they arrived, the suspect fled from
police driving west in the eastbound land on Phlean Blvd. The pursuit ended at West Lucas
and Gladys when police disabled the car with a spike strip. The driver was arrested for evading,
possession of marijuana, and possession of a controlled substance. He was transported to the
Jefferson County Correctional Facility.
