The Beaumont city council has named a former councilman to fill out the unexpired term
of At-Large Councilwoman Gethral “Get” Williams-Wright, who passed away in February.
Bill Sam was unanimously appointed by the council yesterday. This is the second appointment
for Sam and he filled out the unexpired term in 2014 when Jamie Smith was elected Jefferson
County District Clerk. Mayor Becky Ames will be on with us at 8:20 this morning for her
monthly visit.
