A man is jailed following a burglary and a standoff with police. Beaumont police were
called to the 5000 block of Pine Street last night after a man had broken into his girlfriend’s
house and smashed several items, including a TV, glass door, and glass table before leaving
the scene. Police pulled the suspect’s vehicle over and he refused to exit the car. After about
a 20 minute standoff, he exited the vehicle and was arrested. Police found a loaded firearm
in the car.
