A Jefferson County jury has convicted and sentenced a Winnie for burglary of a building.
Danny Ray Smith is heading to prison for 20 years for the April 2017 burglary of the
Longhorn Drive-In store in Jefferson County. Smith was seen on video stealing almost
$2,000 worth of cigarettes from the store. Through surveillance, a lead from Crimes
Stoppers led to the arrest of Smith. Smith had previous felonies, which led to the maximum
sentence of 20 years.
