Two primary races were decided in Jefferson County in yesterdayâs runoff election. Melody
Chappell pickup over 55% of the vote to defeat Tina Bradley for the democratic nomination
for 172nd State Court District Judge. She will face Republican Mitch Templeton in the
November general election. In the race for Justice of the Peace in Pct 8, Tom Gillam III
defeated Joseph Guillory II. Gillam, who will not have an opponent in November, picked up
55% of the vote.
