Cox Heads To Court Today For Punishment Phase Of Trial

A Lumberton woman that pleaded guilty earlier this week to stealing more than $70,000 from

the Lumberton High School Band Booster Club returns to the Hardin County courthouse today

for the punishment phase of her trial. Helen Cox, who was the club’s treasurer, admitted to

using the money at casinos and other stores for personal use. She faces up to 20 years in prison

and a $10,000 fine. The trial is taking place in Judge Steve Thomas’ courtroom.
